Deb Bauer

Deb Bauer KPA-CTP

Deb Bauer is a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner and has been working professionally with dogs and their people for over 35 years.  She has trained and competed with her dogs in a variety of dog sports and activities including obedience, rally, agility, flyball, canine freestyle, therapy work, TV and media, tricks, lure coursing, nosework and more.

What Deb loves more than anything else in her work is watching that spark of fun and partnership glow between the dogs and the humans she works with.  She started as a youth in the 4H dog program.  She enjoys working with people and dogs of all ages and abilities, and is also an assistance dog trainer, teaching dogs how to assist people with a variety of needs.

Deb has a special fondness for working with dogs that are blind, deaf or both blind/deaf, and those with a highly sensitive nature – dogs showing fearful, reactive,  or unsettled behaviors. She takes a holistic, welfare-first, and trauma informed approach to the behavior work she does with dogs to create lasting change.

She lives with her three amazing dog family members – Rough Collie Invincible Vinny and Pomeranian mix Delight (both of which have been blind/deaf from birth), and Shetland Sheepdog Nigel.  Vinny is a retired therapy dog, International Trick Dog Champion, and has titles in rally and canine freestyle. Delight enjoys earning trick titles from a variety of sources and nosework. Nigel is busy learning all the things to see what he will love the best!
