In 2022, I began training at the club to earn my Australian Cattle Dog, Ivy, her Canine Good Citizen title. From there, we dabbled in obedience before turning to disc and agility. Ivy and I have our ACT 1 title, and are currently competing in Novice-level AKC and CPE agility.
For the past several years, I have taken part in raising and training three service dogs for children with disabilities. Although this primarily includes basic training and socialization, teaching more advanced commands and public skills has been valuable to my growth as a trainer. I have also volunteered to train shelter dogs in Vermilion County, working with fearful, reactive, and undersocialized dogs to become confident and friendly family pets.
Now, I have taught several Home Companion classes at the club, as well as a sports foundations class
