As we know, agility and obedience require jumping, and, our dogs can generally manage that … as long as they don’t have to figure us into the mix. The question we address in this class is “How does your dog jump … in competition?” Working from Susan Salo’s analysis, we will address developing this standard: “”Ultimately, you are looking for your dog’s back feet to be placed tightly together, his back to be relaxed and slightly rounded, and his head to bob slightly downward and forward as he lifts off the ground.” We will introduce some exercises you will be able to work with with your dog to establish a safe and solid jumping form nomatter the dogs’ heights.
The registration cost for an 8-week class is $120 and the cost for a 4-week class (or workshop) is $60. Agility classes are 6 weeks which each class runs for 1 1/2 hours.
Jumpers
Length of classes: 8 weeks
Agility classes may be repeated once, if necessary. If your dog has not learned the required skills after repeating a class you will be placed on a waiting list until there is space for you to try again.
All classes involve wait time until it is your turn to run your dog. You must bring a crate to agility class so your dog can learn to wait calmly and quietly.
