I started with my Gordon Setter Toby in Puppy Elementary 17 years ago and have been here ever since. He was my first performance dog and we enjoyed the process of learning and expanding our abilities. We titled in Obedience, Rally and Agility in several different venues. I was privileged to co-own his dam Star who is in the Gordon Setter Hall of Fame for her titles in Beauty (Conformation), Brains (Obedience) and Bird Sense (Hunting). Working with our Gordon Setter Ruckus has helped me learn to deal with an insecure dog and fine tune skills to help her become more confident. She loves clicker training and shaping which has opened the door to an entire new level of training. This past year I added a Gordon puppy to our family who keeps us well entertained.
Since becoming a member of DTCCU I have been instructing the Performance Basics class, evaluating and organizing the Canine Good Citizens test in addition to teaching / evaluating the CGC / A (Community) and CGC / U (Urban) classes. I’ve served on the Board in several capacities including President, Vice President and At Large.
