This class is for trainers/handlers who want to develop a relationship with their dogs that extends beyond the everyday training routine. It is designed to help trainers understand how to train the individual dog they have, and how to emphasize their strengths and minimize their failings. It will emphasize the basic concepts of partnership with the dog, how to achieve it and how to maintain it, both in and out of the ring. The class will also emphasize trainer accountability, and show how the things we do can affect our performances and training routines. Though obedience will be the basic medium used to teach these skills, the concepts are also useful for trainers who participate in other activities. A Facebook group will be created for this class, so that videos and other materials can be shared more easily. Participation in the group is encouraged but not required.
