This course is a continuation of the summer session’s Advanced Contacts Workgroup. We will continue to work toward individual contact training goals emphasizing the performance criteria set for each dog. Group members support each other’s training accountability through observation and helping other teams as needed.
Group goals include the development of independent contact performance through positive, behaviorally-based methods. Participants can choose to train stopped contacts, running contacts or a combination.
In this session, we will also be increasing our focus on handling challenges.
Prerequisite: Teams should be working on well-defined stopped or running contact criteria at a competition level. Dogs should be experienced in driving toward targets and working with remote reinforcement.
