This course is a continuation of summer session’s Advanced Contacts Workgroup. We will continue to work toward individual contact training goals with an emphasis on building toward the performance criteria set for each dog. Group members support each other’s training accountability through observation and by helping other teams as needed. Group goals include the development of independent contact performance through positive, behaviorally-based methods. In this session, we will also be increasing our focus on handling challenges.
Prerequisite: Teams should be working on well-defined stopped or running contact criteria at a competition level. Dogs should be experienced in driving toward targets and working with remote reinforcement.
