Home Companion

An 8-week course for dogs beginning their training that emphasizes the foundation training essential for well-behaved pets.

NOTE: Dogs must be at least 6 months old.

Owners learn to teach their dogs such skills as sit and lie down on command, come when called, stay in one spot until released, and walk on a loose lead.

Common behavior problems such as jumping on people, getting in the garbage, etc., are also addressed.

The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test, sponsored by the American Kennel Club, is given at the end of each session. Dogs must pass the CGC to go on to more advanced courses.

Rescue dogs (from a shelter or other rescue organization) get a 20% discount on their first class. Please bring adoption papers to the first class.

Proper socialization means providing positive experiences with as many new people, dogs, and situations as possible. It’s essential for developing a confident and well-adjusted adult dog that is comfortable with all life has to offer.
